Vascular surgery resolves problems of vessels (arteries, veins and lymphatics). The Vascular Specialist deals with the diagnosis and management of diseases affecting all parts of the vascular system except of the heart (cardiac surgeon’s domain) and brain (neurosurgeon’s domain). The conditions, which affect the vascular system, are varicose veins (dilated veins), deep vein thrombosis, lymphoedema, clots within the veins, leg ulcers, carotid artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysms (dilatation of main abdominal artery), aortic dissections and lower limb ischaemia (poor circulation of the legs).

Dr Fassiadis deals with all of the above and has a special interest in vascular access (fistula), in the diabetic foot and complex major vascular surgery (e.g. infected grafts and stent grafts).
